The Anxiety Lie Review

Anxiety Lie

The Anxiety Lie is the latest product from Rich Presta who has already created The Driving Fear Program (driving phobias) and Panic Puzzle (panic attacks). This latest product deals with the more general issue of anxiety. The word “Lie” in the title refers to Rich Presta’s belief that other anxiety products aren’t telling people the whole truth when it comes to coping with anxiety. He says that they tell you what you want to hear so that you feel better about yourself. As a result they aren’t nearly as effective as they don’t challenge you to come out of your comfort zone. The is what makes Anxiety Lie different, it takes you out of your comfort zone right from the start and grabs you by the scruff of your neck and yells at you what you have to do. As a result it’s not for everyone. It’s a kind of boot camp for fast tracking you out of your anxiety issues. Rich Presta says on page 9 “I have no interest whatsoever in making you FEEL better, I’m going to help you BE BETTER.” Other products will tell you that it is okay to be anxious, this one tells you it isn’t. But this one certainly tells you what to do about it.

Accepting that it is okay to be anxious is like saying there is no need to improve yourself. All successful people are always looking for their next challenge to improve themselves. Anxiety is not okay as it’s an obstacle that is standing in the way of who you want to be. Accepting that anxiety is okay is the same as giving up and not trying to do better with your life.

The Anxiety Lie begins by giving you a bit of a scolding for believing that it is okay to be anxious then kicks you off your butt and demands that you do something about it. It teaches you that action is the best reaction to anxiety and will show you how to do this by identifying the real causes for your anxiety.

The Anxiety Lie will then show you that your anxiety is all your own fault. This is contrary to what some of the other books available will tell you. It shows you that even if the root cause of your anxiety was caused by trauma inflicted by other people when you were a child, you still have a choice of how you react to that anxiety. This may make you angry at first, but when you stop to think about it this is actually great news. If you are responsible for your anxiety then surely that makes it far easier to control it? It’s your own choice how you respond to anxiety regardless of how you came to be anxious in the first place. The book describes your past experiences as being like the current in the river but if you take responsibility you can row the boat in any way that you choose.

As well as the 95 page Anxiety Lie manual you also get an audio version of the program that you can listen to as well. But most important of all is the “Rescue Audio Session”. This is an MP3 track that you can take anywhere with you and listen to when you become anxious. You will hear Rich Presta talk you through a series of steps that will get you through your anxiety before it gets too bad or leads to a panic attack.

Anxiety Lie doesn’t really offer anything different to any of the other anxiety and panic products available. The techniques for overcoming anxiety and panic are pretty much the same whatever product you buy. But what this one has going for it over the other products is that it is extremely blunt and that greatly serves to enhance its message and leave you with no illusions about what you need to do to overcome your anxiety.

What I liked most about The Anxiety Lie was that it dispels the myths that there are things in our lives that control our anxiety that we can’t do anything about. Reading Anxiety Lie made me realize that is all a load of rubbish. I used to think that there were experiences I had as a child that were so traumatic that they would always be lurking at the back of my mind and controlling my anxiety. Reading Anxiety Lie made me realized that these memories only have the power that I choose to give them. In other words by themselves they have no power at all.
